In the example on the right instead one of the two solutions not only allows a minor loss of speed in the gear shift, but overall is faster in acceleration.

The tuner can then make the choices according to the needs of the track or of the driver, for example depending if is more or less rapid in the gear shift, or prefers an engine more or less fluid, etc.
